Q: I need to get a replacement pump for my skimmer Aqua-C Remora protein. Does anyone know where and what type of pump should I get? I have a 55 gallon tank. Also what type of filter that you recommend.
A: The Remora Aquacer comes with a Maxi-Jet 1200, and the Remora Pro comes with either a Rio 1400 or Mag-Drive 3. If you go with the Maxi-Jet, you can search the Internet for mod wheel to get the pump to produce more speed.

whish protein skimmer is "better"......the CPR bak-pak skimer, Aqua C remora skimmer, red sea prizm, or the via aqua multi skimmer?......please give details why.......thanks!!!
bak pak sucks....just doesnt' skim good. Aqua-c i have never used bt heard some bad/some good. prizm, never used but hear nothing but negative, doesnt skim very well. and the aqua ive never heard of. I use a Coralife super skimmer and everyone who
Plus the water temperature in shallow ponds fluctuates too much with the changes in ambient temperature. Safety for fish from wading cranes - they cannot wade in 3 feet of water. Warm water or fluctuating temperatures are unhealthy for fish. You need a minimum of 3 feet for koi fish for several reasons....

I have a Remora Aqua C protein skimmer it's about 3 yrs old i've been getting mega micro bubbles and i can't seem to get rid of them,any ideas also can i buy something to get rid of them like a diffuser of somekind.Thanks for your help
Its a common problem with HOT type skimmers - anything on the diffusor plate returning water may cause them so first thing make sure its spotless - scrape corraline with a blade if you have to , next if you can have it discharge into some kind of bubble

I'm building a 20 gallon sump for my 55 gallon saltwater tank-I thought I could save myself money by using my Aqua C Remora skimmer but it's a hang on skimmer-Can I just use the skimmer I have in the fuge part of my sump? this would eliminate the need
i dont see why not, though i would surely plan a sump for a bigger skimmer before i planned for a refugium
